CAPSAC Virtual Awards Ceremony

CAPSAC will recognize outstanding work in the field of child maltreatment through three awards: "The Karen Saywitz Legacy Award," "The Paul Crissey Graduate Student Research Award," and "The Neal Snyder Outstanding Community Service Award." Strength Based Reporting in Child Abuse: A Webinar with Dr. Joycelyn Wormley

This training, led by Dr. Joycelyn Wormley, will discuss new trauma-informed practice for professionals. Participants will learn how to report on family strengths when making child abuse reports. This training will benefit those who provide direct services to children and families. This training does not replace the required mandated reporting training.
MDT Response to Child Sexual Abuse Investigations (Los Angeles)

This is an introductory team-focused training for individuals who conduct child abuse investigations, as part of a current or emerging Child Advocacy Center or Multi-Disciplinary Interview Team (CAC/MDIT) in California, including professionals in: law enforcement, prosecution/county counsel, social services/CPS, medical-sexual assault examiners, victim witness, mental health,
and other participating MDT agencies.

A Child's Mind on Tech: Helping Children Establish Healthy Relationships with Technology

With the proliferation of technology at our fingertips, and an overabundance of stimulation just a click away, we ask… what effect does technology have on a child’s mind? This year’s Statewide CATTA virtual conference, "A Child’s Mind on Technology,” will provide research-based methods to help children establish healthier relationships with technology. Speakers will explore the links between technology, addiction, and resilience, and share tips and tools to help parents and children manage its use.
